They Died for our Country

Memorial Day
is today - an American holiday. Originally called Decoration Day, Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service to our country. We've started a new "Chan tradition" on Memorial Day (although William has been doing this on his own for awhile) and watch (record) the Memorial Day concert on PBS.
God bless all of those who have died for our country. God bless their families.

America's War Dead From the Revolutionary War to Iraq

Throughout our history, thousands of brave Americans have died serving their country and fighting for their beliefs. From the early days of the American Revolution to our current war in Iraq, the numbers of battle deaths speak to the sacrifices our soldiers, and their families, have made.

William turns 25 again.

We had our annual 25th birthday party for William and shared the bday celebration with a few other May birthday friends... Chris, Michelle & Kristen. We didn't get too many photos... but we did enjoy the perfect weather outside.

Wimberley

We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary this weekend. We had a weekend get-a-way planned and had reserved a river house in Wimberley, TX. Unfortunately we ended up only able to stay for a few hours .... but it was still a nice trip :) It's only a 45 minute drive from Austin. It's a quaint little town on the Blanco river - very peaceful. Can you spot the kayak in the pic above?

Here's our little porch area...

and here's William driving across the river in my car. The road is at the same level as the river....which results in an "intimate bridge crossing".

We spent a little time lounging around the town, around the river....

around art... lawn art.

...and rusty lawn art with teeth.

Also, William entertained an impressive number of cats. Wimberley seems to be a great rescue area for them... many of the downtown shops take care of them. This one is about 20 yrs old!

Last time we visited this town, William and I blew up a queen size inflatable mattress and floated it down this river.

We love our moms

Happy Mother's Day to our amazing mothers. Thank you for all your love and support.

Lovely views in California and Austin

We are in California right now ... the famous OC. (Orange County) No movie star sightings, but all the lamborghinis made up for that.

Most importantly, we were honored to witness a beautiful wedding.... of a beautiful couple :) Here's our favorite photos from the special ceremony in Newport Beach ....

Also....back in Austin, we received a nice visit from Karen. Check out the wonderful view of Lake Travis.
